Little Boots and Kid Cudi to Re-Work Day ‘n’ Nite

Via: Gig Wise

Looks like we’re going to get what we wanted. According to Gigwise who reports Little Boots says she and Cudi will be in the works to re-work Day ‘n’ Nite. Read the article below for the scoop.

The 25-year-old singer told Gigwise the pair discussed the collaboration following their surprise performance together at the recent SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. The recording is expected to be used in the promotion for Kid Cudi’s debut album, ‘Man on the Moon: The Guardians’.

“He wants to record the cover I did with pianos and strings and do a version of that for his album trailer or something,” she told Gigwise.

Little Boots, who originally covered the song in her bedroom, said she thought the re-working could be “really interesting”.

dude!!! stop it! im a huge cudi fan but these remixes of the same song are getting out of control. im starting to DISlike the song.

  • Tommy

Yeah I agree with HoustonCudiFan 100%. The remixes have to stop some time. The reason I fell in love (no homo) with Day N Nite was because it was spacey and lonely but still had mass appeal. I fell in love with the original. I’m not too excited for this, and this comes after CuDi was supposedly taking a break from “emo rap”. I support CuDi just as much as his other extremely loyal fans on here, but I’m not interested. If he reads this, I love you buddy *no homo* like a brother but stop the remixes. One love.

p.s. I love emo rap, some of the most relateable lyrics out there.

Let’s get the terminology right – once and for all.

    This is not a REMIX.
    This is a COVER VERSION.
You know, like when Whitney Houston COVERED Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You” for ‘The Bodyguard’ movie soundtrack?

A REMIX is when another producer, engineer, artist or amateur uses ACTUAL elements (vocals, instrumentation) directly from the original recording, and creates a new version – be it a house mix or whatever. Usually, a remix retains the original vocals whilst underpining it with a new backing track. i.e. The Crookers Remix of “Day N Nite”.

    Are we all clear, now?!

Btw, this Little Boots cover is a nice idea but, sounds too ordinary. There’s a distinct lack of melodic flourishes on the piano to sustain the interest of 3 minute piece. Kate Bush could smash this!

cover/remix i know the diff. still the same song though

I don’t understand why the hate? Even if there is 100 remixes of this song out, don’t listen to them. Just listen to the qaulity ones which is maybe 3-4. I only even listen to two versions.

And I can guarantee if this goes out how its planned it will be one of my favorites and the favorites of many people.

I don’t know why the hate either but i know that this cover will one of his songs that i will look forward to the most. He even said himself that her version was the way he originally wanted the song to sound and thats why he fell in love with it. Can’t wait hear what these two come up with.. its gonna be dope.
