Man on the Moon: The Contest

I got many of you excited for this contest on twitter yesterday after noon as I announced what type of stuff I had to give away. Lets just say this isn’t a small contest. With the album just days away from its release I figured the only way to get things going on Sept. 15 was with some prizes. Hopefully you will be the lucky winner of our prize package that consist of a Deluxe DVD/CD Edition of MOTM, Karmaloop Moon Tee, A Kid Name Cudi Mixtape, Cudi x Complex Magazine. Well I’ve got 5 of these packages to give away. And even better, thats not the GRAND Prize…got your attention? Keep reading for the full scoop.

I have 5 prize packages to award. To start lets clarify what 1 of these consists of:

• (1) DVD/CD Deluxe Edition of Man on the Moon: The End of Day

The Grand Prize will be the exact same except the addition of one item: a custom designed Kid Cudi Skateboard deck signed by Kid Cudi himself:

Eligibility
All residents of USA and Canada are eligible. I know Cudi has lots of fans across the world and Europe so you may enter but you MUST pay for shipping if you are outside the USA & Canada. USA and Canada will not have to pay shipping. You must be 13 years or older to participate.

How to Enter:
There are 5 different categories you may participate in and enter.  There will be one winner from each category. They are:

1. Photo/Image – Why are you Kid Cudi’s biggest fan?
2. 10 Question Quiz
3. Design a poster promoting “Man on the Moon: The End of Day”
4. Create a promotional video for “Man on the Moon: The End of Day”
5. Free for All – Write a poem, rap a freestyle, do what ever you want but it must promote “Man on the Moon: The End of Day” in some way.

Grand Prize:
Your probably wondering how do I win the Grand Prize with the Skateboard???? Its simple, by submitting/entering yourself for one of the 5 categories above you are automatically entered into the Grand Prize contest even if you do not win. If you don’t think your poster or video is the best you should still submit it as that gives you one draw for the Grand Prize.

You MAY ENTER yourself into all 5 categories if you wish. You are only eligible to win once but this does give you up to 5 chances at the Grand Prize.

BONUS: Want one more shot at the Grand Prize?
All you have to do is take a picture of your copy of Man on the Moon: The End of Day and post it in this topic on our forums (must be a member). To make sure it indeed is your own copy, provide proof in the photo of your username (i.e. write it on a piece of paper) or be in the picture yourself. Don’t try any funny business like photoshop, I’ll easily catch you cheating.

Deadlines:
The contest for the 5 categories runs until 11:59PM ET on Sept 15, 2009. Submissions must be received no later than that to qualify. The Winner will be announced on Sept. 17, 2009 at 9PM ET. Any judging that needs to be done (ie. winning video) will be done by me. Who knows, I may just get a second opinion on it.

The GRAND PRIZE winner will be announced on Sept. 19, 2009 at 5PM ET. This gives you a few days to buy the album or allow for your pre-order to arrive.

Disclaimer.
In the event that the winner of the Grand Prize also won one of the 5 category based prize packages he/she will only be awarded the Grand Prize and a new winner will be chosen for that category. I reserve the right at any time to revoke a prize or cancel this contest for any reason. If I deem your entry a fraud or an attempt to cheat you may be disqualified based on my judgement alone.

Submitting your entry:

Photo/Image – Why are you Kid Cudi’s biggest fan?

• you may submit only one photo no larger than 8.5in x 11in or 1275px x 1650px
• your submission may be accompanied by 100 words to explain whats going on in the photo
• if I deem your photo as just an attempt to gain an extra entry for the Grand Prize I will delete it and disqualify you. original entries only (ie. a photo of Kid Cudi doesn’t count)
• you may manipulate your original photo (ie put lyrics on top or something)

Poster Design:

• Download the following template (zip folder) – zShare | Mediafire) which contains images along with templates
• You may use your own images, the ones I provide were just to give you something to work with
• Poster must contain the footer as already included in the template
• Poster must promote and include the text “Kid Cudi” and “Man on the Moon: The End of Day”
• Original designs only

Promo Video:

• Video must at include the two following slides at the end of the video: Slide 1 | Slide 2
• Video must promote the album and include the text “Kid Cudi” and “Man on the Moon: The End of Day”
• Original videos only, stock footage is okay. As long as you put the clips/video together the submission will count
• Upload your video to youtube with the title “Man on the Moon: The End of Day – Video Contest Entry – Your Name”
• Submit a link to your video to contest.datnewcudi@gmail.com with the subject line “Man on the Moon: The Contest – Poster Submission”.

Free For All:

• It’s simple, do what ever you want or can come up with ( ie. freestyle, poem, statue, painting, cartoon)
• The only guidelines for this that it promotes the album “Man on the Moon: The End of Day”
• Submissions must be made via email to contest.datnewcudi@gmail.com so if its a physical item make sure to take a picture of it.
