DatNewCudi.com – Redesign 2.5
About this time last year I launched the second design for DatNewCudi and after much deliberation I decide to leave much as it is this time around. I call this one a “re-align”.
Why The Re-Align
Over the past year I’ve been adding a lot to the site in terms of content and information. Much of it on the fly, which has led to a bunch of sloppy design choices. I let it slide for to long. Over the last few weeks I sat down to refresh the look slightly while primarily putting my focus on improving how the content on the site was presented to you. Hence the 2.5 version. We’re not at 3 just yet, but it will be awesome, whenever it comes.
Huh?
To some of you, visually this will look like a huge change. It’s merely a re-align (in my books). I’ve kept the same structure and form of the previous design while updating the graphics. As well I’ve added a TON of little improvements and updates through out the site. I’ve diligently worked on this to make sure the smallest details are at a high standard so if there’s anything not working correctly or if you just have a suggestion please let me know.
Like what?
Few things changed/improved/added:
- Navigation – cleaner and and less cluttered with an improved drop down
- Replacing that easily missed “continue reading text” is a new “Read More” button
- Tweet This & Facebook Like buttons for easy sharing with friends
- Font & spacing – many subtle changes to the font color, size and spacing so its easier to read
- Mixtape page is now better organized – see for yourself
- Same thing goes for the Lyrics page(s)
- Sidebar’s not full of a ton of shit. Simple as that.
- Search has been moved up so its easier to look up info
- Many more that you may not notice but trust me it will improve your experience on the site

I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE you to be using a modern day browser that has been updated to its latest version so that you have the best viewing experience. Judging by the stats, many of you are on the right versions. Some of you still use IE6, IE7 ( 
) and older versions of Firefox and Safari. To make it easy, here’s links to make sure you get the right version and your browser is up-to-date.

Whats Next?
- You’ll notice the old “music” pages are hidden. I still need to figure out what I can post for free, how to provide it all for download and organize all the individual tracks. It’s not an easy task as I’d like to provide a full archive of music which can be legally downloaded for free. So you’ll those pages return when the times right.
- a new Concerts/Upcoming shows page design will be rolled out when there’s new shows to be promoted.
- iPhone, iPod Touch & Android versions of the website are coming later this month. I previously mentioned an app but decided it would be best to port the current design to a mobile friendly version. You can view a preview here.
- KidCudi.tv and the DatNewCudi Forums will be update with the new look in the near future
