Kid Cudi’s sophomore album is officially in stores tomorrow and critics are starting to weigh in with their opinions on Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager. You can read a few reviews below.

A tortured soul, yes, but one with ingenious capabilities, Cudi has taken his progressive style and turned it into a sound that no one would dare replicate.

NME Magazine: 9/10

We’ve glimpsed ancient wonders and glistening possibilities and met, in Kid Cudi, the man to push mainstream hip-hop into a dazzling new realm of sonic exploration.

Entertainment Weekly: A-

His half-sung vocals, alternately surly and vulnerable, weave in and out of the mix along with distorted guitars, sweeping strings, twinkling harpsichords, ghostly samples, and who knows what else. No other major-label rapper in 2010 is pushing boundaries in quite the same way.

Chicago Tribune: 3.5/4

As dire as that sounds, the music is as consuming and intoxicating as the lifestyle Cudi describes. On two albums, the stoned-and-alone rapper has created a world built for one.

    Just for anyone who doesn’t know. its out already on itunes. i pre ordered mine and it downloaded at around 8:00… the first time i hear all the songs it was ok. but then after the second i fell in love. SICK ALBUM! way to go CuDi

    Pretty disappointed with this album. The first one was great. Every song fit and added to the album as a whole. This just seems like a bunch of fillers. No hate, theres not a bigger cudi fan out there than me but this is no where near his best.

    Obviously being the head of this website I am a Cudi supporter. But this album is not good! The lyrics don’t rhyme, the beats are cool, and the documentary also, but the only good song is Erase me and that’s been mainstream for ages. I have nothing but love for Cudi and his work, but he shoulda laid off of the chronic when making this cuzz there are many dissatisfied people speaking up not only on my personal Facebook but on every Cudi supporting Facebook. All in all I apologize if I have offended any Cudi supporters but this is Juss my opinion. One Love One Cudi
